About Me

I'm Meg,

an Auckland based portrait photographer

I have been working with clients across the United Kingdom, United States, and New Zealand for over 5 years. I graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a degree in Visual Arts, majoring in Photography.

I love the classic, timeless professional feel of studio sessions, but I'm equally happy to be back in Auckland with it's diverse range of landscapes offering countless different options for location sessions. I really enjoy the candid nature of a location shoot, as it feels a bit more casual, allowing for everyone to get comfortable in front of the camera, especially if it's for the first time in a while.

One of my favourite things about being a photographer is that no two shoots are ever the same, whether in a studio setting or even at the same location twice, every shoot offers the opportunity to meet new people and hear their stories.

As someone who prefers being behind the camera, I can appreciate how daunting being in front of the camera can be. That’s why it’s so important to me that I create rapport with every client and create an atmosphere that feels relaxed so everyone is comfortable and we produce images that everyone will love. A photoshoot should be about more than just the images, it’s about the experience too.

One of my favourite moments as a photographer is knowing that I’ve got “the shot”. That specific feeling I get when I’ve successfully captured a moment that I feel truly represents the personalities of the client.

With 10 years of experience working with kids, I feel confident in photographing families and getting the best out of the little ones and having their big personalities to shine through.

Another significant moment for me is giving the clients their gallery and experiencing their joy when they love what they see. Knowing a client is happy with the final images is such an important part of the photoshoot experience. Knowing that these images are time-capsuling an valuable moment for them and will be treasured for years to come.

We did a session out in the sunflower fields with Meg. I am often self conscious about how I look in photos, but Meg took my insecurities into account and made the session fun and relaxed. It was such a fun morning out and I absolutely love all the photos she took - it’s hard to pick a favourite!
